Indications:
Acute or chronic food stagnation presenting with indigestion, distention and fullness in the chest and epigastrium, abdominal bloating or distention with occasional pain, acid regurgitation, foul smelling belching, flatulence and stools, bad breath, hiccoughs, nausea and vomiting, little or no appetite, aversion to food, sensation that food is "stuck" and cannot move through the digestive tract, poorly formed stool, foul smelling diarrhea, constipation. Tongue: thick greasy white or yellow coat Pulse: slippery, full, excess
 
Biomedical Applications:
indigestion, dyspepsia, halitosis, gastric hyperacidity, gastroesophageal reflux disease, acute gastroenteritis, food poisoning, acute exacerbation of chronic gastritis, peptic ulcer disease, heartburn and indigestion in late pregnancy, autonomic dysfunction of the gastrointestinal tract, chronic cholecystitis, infantile colic, infantile poor appetite and abdominal distention, infantile nocturnal cough with abundant expectoration, excessive alcohol intake, motion sickness, skin diseases such as acne, eczema, dermatitis, or psoriasis which are exacerbated by food sensitivities, hyperlipidemia, obesity
 
Standard Dosage:
8 pills, 3 x day.
 
Clinical Dosage:
Administer half an hour before or one hour after eating. In severe cases or in the initial phases of treatment, a 75% increase in dosage may be used, then reduced to a maintenance dose as the treatment takes effect. May be used long-term, for several weeks to several months. May be used over the course of several years. Monitor for signs of Spleen Qi deficiency.
 
Ingredients:
Crataegus pinnatifida fruit, Pinellia ternata rhizome, Massa fermenta, Poria cocos fungus, Citrus reticulata peel, Forsythia suspensa fruit, Hordeum vulgare sprout, Raphanus sativus seed. - Shan zha, Ban xia, Shen qu, Fu ling, Chen pi, Lian qiao, Mai ya, Lai fu zi.
 
Cautions & Contraindications:
Use with caution in patients with pronounced deficiency. Use with caution in breast-feeding women as Mai Ya/barley sprout may reduce the production of breast milk in some cases.
