Extinguishes Wind, Drains Dampness, Clears Heat, Expels Toxins, Nourishes Qi and Blood, Unblocks the Channels and Collaterals, Stops Itching
Wind, damp heat, and heat toxins lodged in the skin and blocking the channels and collaterals. May be accompanied by concurrent Qi and Blood deficiency. Presenting with acute or chronic skin rashes that are very itchy, itching when a rash may not yet be present, lesions that are pale red or dark red, and possibly painful, blistering or seeping rash with puss, dry and flaky skin, itching due to drug allergy, hives and other allergic skin rashes. Also used for vaginal discharge with itching due to damp-heat. Tongue: varied. May be red with a yellow coat, or pale and/or swollen with a moist white coat Pulse: rapid, slippery, thin, floating
allergic dermatitis, contact dermatitis, neurodermatitis, pruritus, urticaria, eczema, psoriasis, tinea infection, hives, poison oak, poison ivy, insect bites, acne, rosacea, ringworm, scabies, leukorrhea, pruritus vulvae, vulvodynia, diaper rash
4-5 pills, 3 x day.
For children aged 3-7 use up to 1/3 of the adult dosage, and for children aged 7-13 up to 1/2 of the adult dosage. Administer half an hour before or one hour after eating. In acute or severe disorders, adult dosage may be increased to 4-5 pills every 2-4 hours, then reduced to a maintenance dose as the treatment takes effect. May be administered for medium-term use for a few weeks to a few months. Once the acute symptoms are resolved, this formula should be discontinued, or combined with an appropriate constitutional formula. During the treatment the patient should be advised to avoid spicy, greasy or drying foods, especially shellfish and alcohol.

Contraindicated for conditions due to wind-cold. Use with extreme caution during pregnancy as this formula is cold, has some Blood moving properties, and Cang er zi/Xanthium is slightly toxic. Contraindicated during pregnancy.
